My Compelling Story

Chaotic Years is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of Kerela, Thiruvananthapuram. The symphonic metal band has had some line-up changes and hence, there was no unique sound until the current line-up came together. Chaotic Years' music is a mix between modern metal, raging symphonic elements, groove and a dash of Indian melody. Both harsh vocals and clean vocals can be found in equal measure in almost all of their songs. Songs are written and composed by the keyboardist, Taz James. Chaotic Years is currently recording their debut album, Elegies of the Distant, and will be produced by Taz James (Chaotic Labs). The act started off in the fall of 2008. The band, then, was called XPG (Xpress Generation) which was a seven-piece band following the genre 'punk rock/post-hardcore'. The band played gigs around their hometown with the support of their Church. Due to personal interests, XPG members split up. The act became numb until the current line-up met. The name, Chaotic Years, was inspired by the scripture on Matthew 24: 4-14. The band's later decision to continue the journey on a different route paved the way for their current genre, symphonic metal. A mix of classic theater and orchestral music combined with the elements of modern metal.
