Chronic Blues Circus Based out of Bengaluru, this band is one of the oldest ones from the blues genre. Members: Aarti Sivakumar on vocals and percussion Miriam John on vocals, harp, and bass Mukut on vocals and keys Owen Bosen on vocals, guitar, and bass Raveen Pandey on vocals and keyboard Sangeeta on bass Shreyas Sel on drums and percussion Peter Isaac on vocals, guitar, harps, and saxophone The band is famous for their original compositions, unique arrangements, and clean and natural sounds. It comprises four lead vocalists coming from different styles of singing, and this is what makes it probably the only blues band. The Chronic Blues Circus also pays tribute through their music, to famous masters of blues who have also been their influences, like John Mayall, The Climax Blues Band, Canned Heat, Paul Butter Field, Cream, Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band, The Band, Guess Who, JJ Kale, Big Brother, and The Holding Company, and also the veterans like Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Howling’ Wolf, and Robert Johnson. The early compositions of the band were Sweet Nicotine, Prime Time News 95, and Restless Woman. The first official line-up of Chronic Blues Circus was formed in 1991, which comprised of Steve (Unknowns), Ramesh, Joe, and Peter Isaac. After that, artists like Vinoo Mathews, Jeffrey Pope, Late Sunny Nambiar, Niranjan Burke, Jagadeesh, Raveen Pandey, Jeeth (plum bum), Marcus Rodriguez, Niranjana, Ananth Menon, Jeet Thayil, Leo Gerard, Srinidhi Ananthraman, The Late Noel Welcome, Theo, Late Immanuel (Mannie), Late Prem Naidu, Late Prashant Davidson, Late Deepak, Phillip, Late Ronnie Johnson, Late Lester Bob, Prakash, Elvis, Kiran, Hemanth, Venkat Subramanian, Arjun, Abilash, Miriam John, Adrian Andrade, Raman, Vagn Olsen, Glen Demonte, Ashley Williams, Abe Thomas, Victor Francis, Dev, Anand, Mike, Owen Bosen, Steve Randall, Bharath, Mukut, Sudhakar, Sachin, Sylvester, Satvik, Sam, Nastya, Aditya Jairam, Rahul.T, Ian, Paul Swing, Aayushi, Aditya M.M, Sangeeta, Raj.S, Shreyas Sel, Aarti, and others have kept the band alive.
