My Compelling Story

Francis Yee Lepcha is a Kolkata- based solo pop singer or track singer who started his musical journey in 1997. He was inclined towards music since the age of six and started singing in school. He won his first competition at the age of ten in his school’s talent contest. By the age of 18, Francis was a part of the band called Trishul, singing pop and rock covers in clubs all over Kolkata. In 2000, he joined Kolkata's leading pop band called Barefoot, comprising mainly of Anglo- Indian musicians who performed wholeheartedly. Francis performs mainly covers, performs in top clubs in the country and in various corporate shows, private shows, college concerts and fests. He experiments with genres such as pop, retro, R and B, swing, jazz, big band, rock, Bollywood , EDM, country, ballads, slow rock, reggae, and disco. He was a finalist in Coke Channel V Popstars Part 2 in 2003 and was among the top 25 in Mumbai. Francis went solo in 2005 and performs mainly in private functions, charity events, school or college concerts, corporate events, weddings and in five-star hotels in Kolkata.
