My Compelling Story

Kailash Joshi is a professional singer from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his classical vocal music course from Bhatkhande Music Institute, Lucknow and cleared his UGC-NET in music. He loves to listen to the ghazals that were performed by Begum Akhtar, Ustaad Ghulam Ali, Mehndi Hasan, Jagjit Singh and Ghalib. Kailash was drawn towards ghazals and fell for the sweet language, Urdu, and took lessons in the language to understand the lyrics of famous songs. He received training from Ustaad Ahmed Hussain and Mohd. Hussain (Jaipur Gharana). Enjoying Sufi music, Kailash sings bhajans, ghazals and thumris. He is in the panel of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and sings on All India Radio (AIR); Kailash has also performed for Doordarshan. He has also been an active participant in shows such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, X-Factor and Ghazalsara and been awarded the prestigious title of Lucknow Youth Icon. In 2011, Kailash was a Top 24 Finalist in X-factor India which was broadcasted on Sony TV.
