My Compelling Story
Medha Hari is a professional dancer based out of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She is hailed as one of the most promising Bharatnatyam dancers of her generation. She began her training under Acharya Choodami, Smt. Anitha Guha, in 1997 and appeared for her arangetram in 2001. She excels in the nritta aspect of dance. She is blessed with a flexible and wiry frame. Hence, her dance is sculpted and chiseled. She is a very sensitive performer. Nimble movements and the pristine purity of her emotions, along with excellent technique and natural charisma have helped her become a standout as a solo artist. She is an artist enlisted with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Growing up in Chennai, Medha has been blessed to have communicated and worked with great artists and also perform in most of her guru’s nrityanatakams. Medha is continuing her art with deep intensity and devotion. She is also a Chartered Accountant. Awards: Adjudged as the ‘Best Individual Performer’, HCL Concert Series, The Music Academy, 2014 Conferred the ‘Nrithya Pradarshanam’ by the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival in April 2014 Awarded the title of ‘Natya Chudar’ from Kartik Fine Arts in December 2014 Conferred the ‘Gutti Vasi Memorial Prize’ from The Music Academy, Chennai for the Spirit of Youth Series held In August 2013 Conferred the ‘Award of Excellence’ from Bharathanjali Trust in November 2013 Received the ‘Lakshmi Vishwanathan Endowment’ from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha for Abhinaya in January 2014 Awarded the ‘Maha Nrithya Nakshatra’ by the Maham Parampara, October 2013 Empanelled Artiste with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and India World Cultural Forum (IWCF) Named the Best Dancer among 50 dancers from all over India in various forms of classical dance by the Sur Singar Samsad, Kal Ke Kalakar Festival, Mumbai, 2009.
