Mrigya, in Sanskrit, means 'the hunt'. The band is one of the premier world and fusion music bands based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi. Formed in 1999, the band has turned out to be a contemporary world-music band, exploring the boundaries of Indian classical music and becoming the harbinger of a unique, fusion band offering a fresh blend of funk, ?blues, Latino, folk, ?Indian classical, and Jazz. Having played at venues all over the world, the band has won accolades and represented the nation at different festivals abroad. From global festivals to private gigs to massive public events, Mrigya has a huge range of performances. Their music represents the legacy of music – particularly the heritage of Indian culture.
