My Compelling Story
Rohan Solomon has been the vocalist & front man of the popular alt - rock band ‘Cyanide’ for over 10 years. He has toured the entire country multiple times and has played in prestigious music festivals like Great Indian Rock Festival, Eastwind Festival, RSJ Pub rock Fest, RSJ October Fest, Gig Week, NH7 Weekender and more. He along with his band Cyanide was featured in the reality TV show ‘Channel V Launchpad’ in 2007 where they performed in the Finals in front of 10,000 people. Cyanide launched their second album ‘Sugarcoated’ which was a major success. The single ‘Find you’ was used in the sound track of the movie ‘Arjun & Alison’ as well as in an advertisement for Cisco featuring members of the band. They have also played in a number of colleges and schools in India and have developed a decent fan base over the years. In 2009, Rohan ventured out on his own and recorded his solo album called ‘Lead The Way’; a spiritual album meant to raise funds for underprivileged children. He released this album in the US, where he put out 2 singles on the radio – ‘Make a Change’ (that talks about the situation of slum kids in India) and ‘Forgive me lord’. Both these songs were played on around 1200 radio stations across 30 states in the US. In 2013, Rohan took a trip to Nashville and recorded his new album ‘Moving On’ produced by Scott Moffatt. The new album has a singer-songwriter pop feel to it and maintains an organic sound. The first single from this album called ‘Dream Girl’ was just released on the radio. The songs are sweet and talk about Love, Loss and everything in between. Being made in Nashville, you can hear the slight hint of "country" in the music, which is a refreshing change because no other artist in India has that sound. Rohan Solomon has already been working as a producer. In 2014, he was approached by Lushin Dubey (known as the Theatre Queen of India) to produce the music for her upcoming musical comedy stage show ‘Wizwits’, running at Kingdom of Dreams since September 2014. Rohan along with Sid Mathur from Cyanide produced all the songs and background tracks for the musical and since then have been approached for a number of future projects.
