My Compelling Story

Shilpa Natarajan is a professional singer based out of the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. She took an interest towards American and British music, and later started following music from across many regions and genres. She is also a Music Presenter on Chennai Live 104.8FM, a Singer, Songwriter and a Vocal Instructor who has had experience in singing for films, jingles and Independent collaborations. She has two bands- Under A Rest and Beef Sappad Trio (A parody band). She has also arranged vocals for Girishh Gopalakrishnan, and works with musicians in Norway as a vocal arranger. She has lent her voice for composers like G.V. Prakash and Dharbuka Siva. Shilpa collaborates with other independent musicians, for gigs based on the requirements of the client, and is all set to release her album- Bubblewrap, on March 9th, 2017. Her musical career started off by singing demo tracks for music composers in the Tamil film industry and later, started working on covers, original compositions, and collaborations.She has also sung for some TV series like Puriyadha Pudhir (Tamil TV series), Biriken (Animated series, Title Track), Lion King 3 (Disney Tamil), and Peter Pan (Disney Tamil).She has also featured in films like Vanakkam Chennai (Tamil, 2012, composed by Girishh Gopalakrishnan), and Hi (Tamil, 2013, composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar).She has also featured in festivals like Strayfactory - Short and Sweet Festival, starring Venkatesh Harinathan, Ajay Ayyappan and Shilpa Natarajan, and Fete De La Musique 2013 with Krimson Blend, Goethe Institute, Chennai.
