My Compelling Story
Silenced is a four-piece LIVE band based out of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. They were the first band to headline at Effervescence, IIT Allahabad. The band initially struggled due to lack of gigs, resources, support, and line up changes since its formation in 2006. Since then, they have come a long way and have performed in every major college in the city. They have moved on to bigger competitions outside the city such as 'Mary Jane Green Fields' - IIT Roorkee, Battle Rock Solid, 'RAGE 2K9'. Silenced is known for their unique 'metalcore/alternative metal' sound in their original compositions. They are also known for their intense performances and energetic stage act. They have created a signature sound by incorporating unconventional elements such as melody-driven breakdowns and unusual arrangements into their riff-driven metalcore songs. Their music, despite being aggressive, is extremely intricate. The lyrics deals with a vast array of subjects including abandonment, restraints, rebellion, time, and independence, delivered with vocals consisting primarily of screaming, screeching and, occasionally, clean singing interludes that steer them away from being labeled a traditional 'death metal' band. With over ten original compositions to their name, they have released an EP in 2011.
