My Compelling Story

Sree Nataraj Dance Academy is a professional dance troupe based out of Kochi, Kerala. This institution budded with just three young students in 1989, now when completing 24 years, has nurtured into a reputed centre for dance studies in Kochi. Traditional dance forms embedded in the strict classical moorings are taught here with rigid disciple by Guru Sri G Sanil Kumar, the founder of Sree Nataraj Dance Academy. A task master with an uncompromising approach to classical dance forms, Sri G Sanil Kumar believes in upbringing young talents to the forefront. Different art disciplines are undertaken by proficient teachers of Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, and Ottanthullal. Many talent dance students from the academy have been acclaimed for their memorable achievements in the school/college and youth festivals organised in the state and national levels. Many of them received coveted titles Kalaprathibha and Kalathilakam, individual championships, scholarships, etc. from various organizations and forums. Many students of this academy continue to give complete dance recitals in and out of Kerala, for different organisations and other platforms. Guru G Sanil Kumar has registered the institution under the charitable Society act and is favoured by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy for its social commitments. A talented lot from economically underprivileged backgrounds are trained and encouraged in this academy. Guru G Sanil Kumar believes in the earnest motive of handling over (to the new generation) of this divine disciple without any dilution. Sree Nataraj Dance Academy fulfils this purpose through its sincere services to the dance world.
