Her father is a Chief Manager in a Bank in Dhenkanal.She was recently crowned Miss Photogenic at Miss Tourism and Culture Universe 2018 (third runner-up), held at Yangon in Myanmar and now she has set her eyes on Miss Universe title.Idolizing Sushmita Sen, she said in an interview, I want to become Miss Universe and also try luck in Bollywood. I idolize Sushmita Sen for her looks and simplicity and to follow her footsteps..More than 30 contestants from all around the world participated in the event organised by Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, Republic of Myanmar. Swapna was chosen out of 40 contestants from India to represent the country at the global stage.She was the youngest among all the contestants.She wore a Sambalpuri sari during presentation round and exhibited the rich culture of Odisha. In addition, she performed the famous Dalkhai dance during the event.She asserts that she did not take on any professional training and just the videos online helped her a lot.She had earlier won Miss Universe Chattisgarh, Miss Teen India, KIIT Nanhipari Titles.
