My Compelling Story
The Burning Deck is the solo project of Mumbai-based bassist and electronic artist, Sandeep Madhavan. With influences ranging from 70s progressive rock and jazz fusion to the songs of 90s, his sounds are always out of the box, assimilating elements of hip-hop and dubstep with drum and bass. Sandeep has released one EP along with two albums, Kalinihta and Deluge. He has collaborated with Indian and international artists like Arfaaz Kaagalwala (Fuzzy Logic), Kartik Basker (The Bicycle Days/Klypp), Katie Mackay (Reason Breeds Monsters), Gijsbert Ackermans (Old Jungle Saying), and many others He has also scored the music for a short film called ‘The Foreigner Here’. His one of the songs, ‘A Different Shade of Blue’ from Kalinihta was nominated for the Best Dance Song at the VIMA 2014.
